Angela Brough Closes Another Deal… On Her Own Investment Property!

Our very own, Angela Brough is having an exceptional month, all things considered. So far in the month of May, she has already helped two of her clients go firm on their new homes and has closed a third deal… her own investment property.
“About eight months before I got mine, I had helped a client get an investment property. We were looking on the resale market forever, that was the start of the crazy sellers market in Ottawa. Then we started looking at pre-construction, that was my introduction to what Mattamy had to offer. My client then bought a 3-storey townhome from them and we were both very excited!
Later, in the Fall, I was once again helping a client that was looking to live in a unit for 3-5 years, then sell to bump up her retirement [savings]. That’s when I investigated the 3-storey towns again and the prices had gone up since my client had bought before! I was like, ‘Okay, this is a sign, the market’s crazy’.
There was a launch of this specific 3-storey, my client and I had agreed to meet at the specific time and place. I would get her into the VIP launch so she could have a better chance.”
“I literally had a dream that we should do this.
The next morning I said to James [husband], we have to talk. We went outside and had our morning coffee and I was like, ’Two of my clients have bought these properties as investment. As a realtor I am helping them do this, I feel like I need to take my own advice. We have the means to do it. The numbers are good.’
So on that launch day, my client and I both put deposits down on a unit.
This was in 2018, and in March of this year, we got the home appraised for $100,000 above what we paid!”
When asked if she’ll make any further investment purchases she responded, “Yeah, I feel like in 5 years when our mortgage comes up we could pull from it and buy another one. That is our plan for now.”
